LUKE CLOUT CONTINUES TO LEAD THE MX2 CHAMPIONSHIP!

  • 2 min read

Metal Mulisha’s Luke Clout continues to lead the MX2 championship into the final round after finishing fourth in Gladstone! A couple of small falls cost him a better result in race one and he could only manage a fifth place finish, but a mistake free run in moto two saw him finish in second place and fall just one point short of landing on the podium for the round. Clout carries a 32 point lead into the final round over Luke Arbon but will need to continue to score good points in every race to secure the championship.

Teammate Jay Wilson took an impressive moto win in race one on his Serco Yamaha Metal Mulisha YZ250F. Wilson came from fourth early in the race to move to the front just after the halfway point and not look back.

He defended a late race charge from Hamish Dobbyn to secure the win. Moto two saw Wilson fall in the first lap and come around in 21st place at the completion of the opening lap. He charged his way back to a top five position in the 30 minute moto, only to fall again on the final lap and drop back to seventh. Still, his 1-7 results saw him take third for the round and move to fifth in the championship chase.
