Cam Sinclair rode double backflips in competition and on the Nitro Circus Live tour. The Australian rider crashed one at Red Bull X-Fighters in Madrid in 2009 and suffered serious injuries. He returned to riding the following year and went back to the double flip, winning X Games Best Trick gold with it in Los Angeles in 2010.

Sinclair rode for Metal Mulisha during those years. He took Best Trick silver in 2011 with a double backflip combination, sharing the podium with teammate Jacko Strong. Between X Games and Nitro Circus Live, he trained the trick at home and performed it in touring shows.
