Erik Apple competed in professional MMA while also working in freestyle motocross and off-road racing. He was a Metal Mulisha-sponsored fighter and spent time on the microphone at X Games and other motorsports events.

Apple joined the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series as an announcer in 2009. His work put him around the riders and drivers as well as the fight team, calling the racing while continuing his own career in MMA.
