Renato Sobral
Strikeforce light heavyweight champion. Babalu submitted Sonnen and Shogun and fought in one-night tournaments. He had signature gear with the Metal Mulisha fight team.

Renato Babalu Sobral fought in the UFC, Strikeforce and Bellator and won the Strikeforce light heavyweight title. He started his MMA career in 1997 and won his first twelve fights. He submitted Chael Sonnen and Mauricio Shogun Rua, fought in tournaments with three bouts in one night and faced both Dan Henderson and Fedor Emelianenko.
Babalu's wrestling and submission game came from years of competing in MMA, jiu-jitsu and grappling. He also coached on Wanderlei Silva's team on The Ultimate Fighter Brazil.
He was part of the Metal Mulisha fight team with his own signature tees and fight shorts. Our Natural Born Fighter videos followed him through training camp for his 2010 fight with Henderson.
