It’s hard to believe it has been 6 years since we lost one of the greatest talents in freestyle, and one of the nicest guys you could meet. Jeremy Lusk is a legend, and although we miss him and wish he was still here to tear it up with us, we know he is watching over all of us.
To honor his memory, Metal Mulisha team rider Jimmy Fitzpatrick opened up his Fitzland compound to host the 6th annual Jeremy Lusk ride day, and invited out the local talent and Mulisha team riders to get out and ride at his spot. Over 20 freestyle riders took to the dirt for a massive session, taking turns hitting set up after set up around the Fitzland compound, and throwing out massive tricks.
There was a giant amount of talent that was laying it down that day including Jimmy Fitzpatrick, Matt Buyten, Brian McGnarls, Wes Agee, Julian Dusseau, Derek Garland, Nate Adams, Destin Cantrell, and many more. A highlight of the session was when McGnarls hit the 120′ ramp with a huge whip in just boxers, followed by a very naked Matt Buyten throwing out a shaolin in his birthday suit, and leaving the entire crowd of riders and onlookers laughing in tears.
“I just figured it was something Lusk would have laughed at, plus I’ve never jumped naked before, so I had to go for it and get everyone laughing” said Buyten.
After the session had wrapped up down on the Fitzland frestyle course, the entire crew shifted gears and headed up to the pad for BBQ and beers. Ronnie Faisst joined the party along with Robbie Maddison, and the entire crew spent the rest of the afternoon sharing their favorite Lusk story, and remembering our friend.
Check out the video recap from the day from 395 Productions. They did an amazing job capturing all the riders session, Huge thanks to Fitz for opening up the pad to let everyone come honor Lusk.
