MX Recap with Metal Mulisha Rider Luke Styke

  • 1 min read

Serco Yamaha Metal Mulisha Racing’s Luke Styke came agonisingly close to winning the MX2 MX Nationals championship after an enthralling weekend of racing at the final round of the championship at Coolum. After suffering a bout of rotten luck at the penultimate round at Moree just a week ago, Styke entered the final round 21 points down on the series leader but with pit pundits giving him no hope of taking the title. With nothing to lose and everything to gain and his typical ‘never say die’ attitude, Styke became the hunter and was out to claw back the deficit in the final three races of the championship. Moto one saw him take a second place finish and cut seven points off the leader. Moto two was even better and after taking the lead at the halfway stage, he went on for the race win and in the process set up the most exciting and tightest championship battle in MX Nats history.
